How Fayose’s Prayer Is About To Be Answered As Fayemi Inches Closer To Ekiti APC Guber Ticket

Governor Ayo Fayose has a prayer concerning the upcoming Ekiti state gubernatorial election.

He wants former state governor Kayode Fayemi to become the candidate of the main opposition party in the state, All Progressives Congress.

And it appears the prayer is about to be answered.

Fayemi, a serving minister has resigned his appointment to contest the shadow election that would determine who gets the apc ticket.

Many believed the exercise would be a walkover for Fayemi based on claims he represents the interest of the Presidency.

The former governor becoming party candidate is being foretold in many political circles in and out of Ekiti.

And Fayose- and his People’s Democratic Party – seeking to prolong their rule in Ekiti state are passionately praying Fayemi becomes the candidate of the opposition party.

Fayose defeated the then incumbent Fayemi in all local government areas in Ekiti state to become Governor.

The defeat was so grand that 16/0 – fayose’s local council wins versus fayemi’s – transformed Fayose into a political legend in Ekiti state.

Checks revealed Fayose had leveraged on the People’s alleged disenchantment with Fayemi’s elitist administration to seize power.

The Fayose camp believes with Fayemi, they have more than enough campaign materials to deploy than with any other aspirants in the fold of Ekiti APC.

“Their plan is to dredge up and repackage all the talking points that enable them to take government from Fayemi and complement these with indicting discoveries made after taking over power to portray Fayemi as incapable of running a state, as well as remind the people of what they experienced” a source disclosed.

The Fayose camp is already mapping out the campaign strategy that would paint the “return of fayemi as hell on steroids” an insider disclosed.

“And truth be told, they have the advantage of giving even outright lies a certain degree of credibility because they took over from Fayemi and whatever they dish out based on government records stands – until proven otherwise by whoever takes over from them” a keen observer pointed out.

Fayose is presenting his Deputy Olusola Eleka as PDP Candidate and anointed successor.

Though Eleka is the candidate, Fayose is prosecuting the election for obvious reasons – his relevance and protection is at risk.
