But for the advent of Covid-19, there are indications Adeshina Alao, the legendary back-up singer for Popular Fuji Singer Pasuma (Wasiu Alabi Odetola) might still be alive.

The lockdown in the fight against Covid-19 denied him the opportunity to make earnings to take proper care of his health.

‘’He has been sick for a while, about four years or so. It was apparent in his visage..his whole outlook. He lost a lot of weight but stuck to his job’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that at a point in the course of taking care of his health, the deceased was forced to delay his return to Nigeria to access advanced care during one of the foreign engagements by Pasuma’s band.

‘’He returned later than the band but it was obvious he was nursing an ailment but the nature of affliction was kept underwraps’’ Societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that Pasuma kept him on as part of efforts to help him sustain his family by protecting his job.

‘’I guess the lockdown and inability to make money to take better care of himself took its toll on Shina’s health’’ Societynow.ng learned.

The back-up singer famous for spicing Pasuma’s performances – album and live engagements – with street parlance and jargon did the job for over 30 years.

Friends and family are trying to raise money for the care of his children with a virtual 8th-day prayer and fundraising scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2020.
