Billionaire Tunde Ayeni is in for a lot of grief.

The deep pocket money man was arrested and later released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission earlier in the week.

The EFCC is accusing Ayeni of Abuse of office and illegally injecting funds into the campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Ayeni is a staunch supporter of former President Goodluck Jonathan under whose administration he executed mind spinning deals.

Ayeni who purchased Ntel and became a major player in the power sector with the establishment of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company and Yola Electricity Distribution Company is accused of abusing position as Chairman of defunct Skye Bank to fund his mega transactions on loans.

Ayeni is now accused of becoming one of the wealthiest men in Nigeria through a process that sounded the death knell on one of the nation’s financial institution.

The billionaire who sits atop many blue chip companies denies allegations against him.

Societynow.ng, however, gathered the billionaire provided the political will for his current travails.

The troubled billionaire is one of the main backers of Atiku Abubakar’s bid to become the next President of Nigeria.

Atiku and Ayeni’s benefactor, former President Goodluck Jonathan belong to the People’s Democratic Party.

Re-election seeking President Muhammadu Buhari is ruling on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
