Growing Furore In Ikenne Over Allegations Powerful Politician’s Entourage Ran Over, Killed Resident At HID Awolowo’s Burial

There is a growing furore in Ikenne, the home stead of great family the Awolowos.

The cause of the rising disaffection is traced to a tragic incident that transpired at the burial ceremony of the matriarch of the family, Chief Hannah Dideolu Awolowo.

Information filtering in revealed that a known resident of the town lost his life when he was ran over by the vehicle of a powerful politician on the day the jewel of inestimable value was committed to mother earth.

The hugely known politician reportedly attended the burial in an uncommon means of transportation with the capacity to ferry many.

Said to be one of those that departed the event early, the figure known to have severally determined the political fortunes of more than a handful was on his way out of Ikenne when the untoward happened.

According to a source ‘’the deceased and his friends surrounded the big vehicle…they were hailing the him and those that surrounded him..the vehicle almost stopped and suddenly picked speed…this caused and surge and the deceased was knocked down and got rolled over by the big tires.

‘’bangs by witnesses and operatives protecting the VIPs on the body of the vehicle forced it to a stop and the deceased was scooped and rushed to the hospital…the vehicle moved on immediately…’’

Societynowng.com learnt the vehicle the victim still had a pause as at the time he was picked from the accident spot but minutes later those who ferried him away came to announce his death.

But the growing talks according to those in the known is that ‘’he abandoned the victim and just went his way, after all if he didn’t see..his security operatives would have mentioned it as part of their report on the event’’

Talks of the happenstance colouring the politician in different shades are said to be making the rounds in the town.

The deceased is described as a long time resident of the town, with roots in Ekiti state.
