Governor Amosun’s Political Future In Jeopardy Over House Of Assembly’s N150b Bond Brouhaha!

The political future of Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun is in jeopardy.

Sources attribute this development to the N150b bond brouhaha that engulfed the state House of Assemble on Tuesday, March 5 2013.

It is alleged that the Governor attempted to pave way for the Assemble’s ratification of securing the bond with the suspension of key opposition in the house.

A move that back- fired…and has greatly aggravated his already frayed relationship with party leaders.

The suspended member’s Hon. Remi Hassan, Hon. Adijat Oladipo, Hon.Allen Taylor, Job Akintan ( all key loyalist of state leader Olusegun Osoba) had rebuffed the move with a counter suspension of the speaker Hon Suraju Adekunbi and other principal officers Hon Tola Banjo (Deputy Speaker (Ijebu Ode)), Hon Jolaoso Isreal (Majority leader (Ewekoro)) and Hon Oluomo Olakunle (Ifo)- all ardent loyalists and supporters of Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Both Governor Amosun and State Leader Olusegun Osoba are in fierce but low profile cold war for the control of political party, Action Congress of Nigeria in Ogun state.

Former Governor Osoba is believe to have the ears of national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu based on pointers Governor Amosun is clandestinely romancing leaders of rival and ruling party, PDP.

Sources claimed Governor Amosun moved without the knowledge the party hierachy- he wanted to catch all unawares with the ‘master stroke turned albatross’

Insiders revealed the counter move by the suspended law makers and blowing of the lid of the underground agenda by victim of the plot, Hon. Allen Taylor, that the plot was orchestrated by the Governor who was desperate to obtain a 150Billion bond had put paid to the game plan.

Hon Taylor had cried out that ” the Governor is not sincere, infact he is corrupt, why collect another needless loan when you cant account for the previous ones, let him follow due process, his plot is to suspend 4 or more of us then move in to get the 2/3 of members to agree, we will fight for what is just, we will protect the interest of the good people of Ogun State that elected us, let it be spelt out that we are not safe, if anything happens to us, the Governor should be held responsible, the Speaker have been bought”

Insiders revealed faced with this damaging allegation and a replay of the immediate past episode of former Governor Gbenga Daniel- the incumbent had denied the allegation when queried by national leader- Tinubu and others.

According to an insider ‘ the denial of the inherent charge of anti party activity paved way for a quick resolution of crisis that resulted in the in breaking of the Assemble’s symbol of authority, Mace’

Findings revealed the Governor and Aremo Osoba were simply instructed to tell their supporters to accept a truce and end the crisis to avoid unnecessary fracas that would hinder development in the state and party.

And they did.
