Gov Ibikunle Amosun’s Agents Stop Ongoing Bridge Construction By Pastor David Oyedepo’s Winners For Ogun Community Cut Off By Flood Over “Permit Fees”
An interesting scenerio is playing out in Ogun state according to information available to societynowng.com.
Findings coming to fore reveal living Faith Church Worldwide, the christian ministry popularly known as Winners Chapel is engaged in a major community service project – but agents of state Governor Ibikunle Amosun have put a stop to the initiative.
Reason?
They claim their action has to do with need for the church to secure required permits and pay necessary approval fees before going further with the project.
The project in question is a bridge meant to reconnect the people and passers by in Ilogbo, Ota to other parts of the Ado Odo local government.
The community is an access route between the old Abeokuta express way and Sango Ota.
The cut off section is situated after Shell plant in that area according to sources.
According to information available to societynowng.com, the bridge that formerly served the purpose was eroded by flood early this year.
”The former bridge was constructed long ago time ago…during the regime of the first civilian governor of Ogun state
”It aged with use and outlived it’s usefulness early this year” a source explained.
Societynowng.com learnt since flood eroded the bridge, the people of the community had groaned under the hardship that came with cutting off their passage to other parts of the state.
Vehicles owners and other related means of transportation were forced to abandon them at home.
The commerce of the area reportedly suffered huge slump as well.
In the face of these un pleasantries forced on the community, sources disclosed Pastor David Oyedepo and his Winner’s chapel came to the rescue.
”They started work at the place last month (July)..they brought trucks and dredgers and all those equipment and began work” a source disclosed.
”We were happy that at long last an end to all the hardship at hand” another source stated.
Societynowng.com however learnt, last week state workers came to the place and forced work at the site of the project to a halt.
”They claimed their was need to secure some approvals, permits and pay some fees…we couldn’t believe it” a source stated.
Societynowng.com gathered people of the community were amazed the state government that normally should handle the project as part of it’s responsibilities would stop someone doing it in bid to generate revenue.
”They forced the workers to stop work on thursday (July 28) and yesterday (monday August 1) the workers resume work and the same people came again and stopped the work…they said they came from Abeokuta, the state capital , that they are state workers” a source stated.
Checks by societynowng.com revealed as at press time, work at the bridge construction site is at a halt with the development stirring up different coloration of comments about the governor and his style of governance.
