Gov Eno Hails Restoration Of Night Flights At Victor Attah Airport

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has praised the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the Ibom Airport Development Company for restoring night operations at the Victor Attah International Airport.
The governor had earlier issued a September 30 deadline to the airport’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Uwem Ekanem, and the board to ensure the full restoration of airfield lighting and navigational systems.
With the task completed, restrictions that limited flights to daylight operations have now been lifted.
Eno commended the airport management for meeting the target and thanked NAMA for its role in making the exercise a success According to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, on October 1, 2025.
He pledged continued government funding for ongoing aviation projects, including the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility and the international terminal, to ensure they become fully operational before the festive season the statement added.
The governor reportedly added that the resumption of night flights will strengthen Ibom Air’s operations, while boosting tourism and accessibility to the state.
He pointed to the upcoming commissioning of the Arise Resorts in December as a key milestone in positioning Akwa Ibom as a major tourism destination.
