Gov Eno Approves ₦1.3bn Bursary, Raises Students’ Grant

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the release of ₦1.3 billion for the payment of bursaries to eligible students across the state, with the bursary award increased from ₦20,000 to ₦50,000 per beneficiary.
The development was announced on Tuesday in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah, who described the approval as a major investment in education and human capital development.
The statement revealed, “Governor Umo Eno has approved the release of ₦1.3 billion for the payment of bursaries to eligible students across the state” and also approved “an increase in the bursary award from ₦20,000 to ₦50,000 per beneficiary.”
The commissioner said the gesture demonstrates the governor’s commitment to easing the financial burden on students, expanding access to quality education and investing in the future of Akwa Ibom youths.
He added that the initiative represents “a bold investment in human capital development” and is aimed at building “a future of opportunities for all.”
