There is a fresh hurdle before Adekunle Akinlade in his bid to become the next Governor of Ogun state.

The flag bearer of the Allied People’s Movement is the preferred choice of outgoing governor Amosun as successor.

Amosun retains status as leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun state.

And is aspiring to become the next senator representing Ogun Central on the platform of APC while deploying all resources – especially that of the state – in the attempt to make APM’s Akinlade the next governor of Ogun state.

Interestingly the newest and increasing huddle against Akinlade’s ambition is courtesy of the alleged action of Governor Amosun.

Amosun is facing a growing accusation of a plan to clandestinely establish a cattle colony in Ijebu East area of Ogun state ‘’after the sale of substantial part of J4 Forest Reserve’’.

Establishment of cattle colonies across the nation is one of the very sore points against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

It is viewed as an indirect attempt to circle the nation by a particular ethnic group with inherent – and very grave – risks for the host communities.

The idea, which was intensely kicked against, was mooted by the Buhari administration in the face of reports of volatile engagements between farmers and herdsmen across the country.

The emerging allegation is that Amosun is attempting to establish what was openly rejected via the backdoor.

‘’The argument is that Amosun does not have the time to execute the project and that means he will rely on Akinlade to see it through if the latter becomes the next governor of Ogun state’’ a source disclosed.

Societynow.ng learned that the involvement of Amosun’s party man with known access to hidden information in the corridors of power Wale Adedayo has given strong wings to the cattle colony allegation.

‘’And it is speedily turning into a campaign point against Akinlade as an alleged pact to sell Ogun state in pursuit of power’’ societynow.ng learned.

According to multiple sources with election barely a week away, this particular allegation is certainly one Akinlade can do without given how unpopular the issue of establishment of cattle colony is.
