For The First Time Multiple Office Holder Jide Ojuko Is Contesting…And It’s Off To A Very Troubled Start!

Emerging details have that for the first term in office political career, Jide Ojuko intends to do things differently.

He wants to contest an election!.

The Ogun West power broker has always secured office via appointment.

He saw out the administration of Governor Olusegun Osoba as a commissioner and is currently the commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs in Ogun state.

Insiders, however, disclosed he wants to change his formulae in search of a bigger political game.

Ojuko wants to become the next Senator representing Ogun West at the National Assembly.

But his campaign is off to a very troubled start.

Ojuko is said to have fallen into trouble with the people of his area on a subject they are very passionate about with very harsh ethnic coloration.

He is accused of siding with “powers that be” to appoint an outsider an Oba in Ogun West for political gains.

Ojuko is an Awori man.

The kingship stool at stake is identified as that of Iju Town, which is an Awori domain.

The allegation taking point from Ojuko is that he sided with former president Obasanjo’s kinsman – an Owu person – to ascend an Awori kingship stool.

Allegations of a N35million fee are being bandied in the mix.

Checks revealed that this controversy broke out as Ojuko hinted close supporters about his senatorial ambition.

“But the Iju obaship allegation has drowned talks of his senatorial ambition and I tell you, the intensity of the growing angst is unprecedented” a source pointed out.

Societynow.ng gathered that this development puts the commissioner in the middle of a steamy ethnic fight between the Aworis and the Owus.

The Aworis- in Ogun West- are fighting the Owus- from Abeokuta – for encroaching into their land and making claims of ownership.
“Ojuko now accused of siding with people working against his people certainly doesn’t brood well for the popular politician and his new found ambition” a source pointed out.
