Inside Senator Adeola’s 3-Day Digital Boot Camp In Ogun West

15 individuals of Ogun West origin who are of active age completed a 3 day training in Digital Marketing Skills, were awarded certificates of participation and were empowered with state of technology laptops to be able to use the soft skills acquired at the training.

The digital bootcamp was facilitated by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), the Aremo of Yewaland and Gbobaniyi of Ilaro who is the candidate of APC in the coming general elections for the Senate seat of Ogun West. He is at present the Senator representing the good people of Lagos West

The facilitation was a collaboration with Nigeria Institute for Hospitality and Tourism and D’Frobtiers Multiproject Nigeria Ltd.

The digital bootcamp was a clear departure from routine for the selected beneficiaries. It was not a give something to the boys kind of pre-election pseudo events where you would know that it is a search for unmerited votes gimmick from the substandard T shirt that would be given to participants, the terrible venue, food not fit for dogs, poor rhetorics from political wannabes and gadgets from some dark corners of some computer villages.

This Yayi facilitated digital training was passion driven from a man who really wants to be a change agent for Ogun West transformation, a tool of God to lead a new dispensation of impactful political representation for a people that have not really gotten their dues from the entity called Nigeria. The venue was the beautiful, cozy events hall tucked by builders into the ultra modern pavilion at the famous Empire Field,.Ilaro which was also facilitated by Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Regardless of the timing, the objective of the impartation of the learnt soft skills was to inspire a new generation of tech driven Ogun West Indigenes that will be able to hold their own anywhere on the planet as 21st Century compliant entrepreneurs.

To Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, there is an endless world of opportunities tech giants like Google are evolving everyday. It is a very lucrative world that Ogun West people of active age who are entrepreneur, job seekers, or aspiring entrepreneurs must take advantage of. They cannot afford to be playing catch up as our world moves. It is important they be at same level with their contemporaries not just in Nigeria but the world over. This informed the decision of Senator Adeola to put together the Bootcamp and to empower the beneficiaries with the right tool to ensure the new capabilities are not dormant.

Protocols were suspended, no speeches, no high table dignitaries. it was straight to the business of teaching and learning by the trainer and the participants from day one of the life changing 3 days bootcamp. It was a practical bringing down of the tech giant, Google down to Ilaro by the trainer, Mr. Ishola Adebayo, a university lecturer and a Google certified digital soft skills trainer.

During the bootcamp sessions which were very interactive, Mr. Ishola Adebayo verbally opened the door to an endless digital world of limitless possibilities and opportunities evolved by google to the participants which wowed the small business owners among them and thrilled the job seekers and the potential business owners. He showed them the internet in a never before seen manner and took them on a tour of Google making them to see the tech giant beyond an internet search engine.

The digital training centred on digital marketing tools like Google Analytics, Google Trends, Google Ads, Google Search, Google Market Finder, Google Rising Retail Categories.

Focus was also on digital marketing channels like Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Contact Marketing,, Google Business Profile, Social Media Marketing, Email Marketing,, Display Advertising.

Adebayo did not end without taking the participants through key areas of digital marketing like funding, copy writing, business growth plan, SWOT, consumer funnel, SMART and Objective Key Results (OKR) to mention but few. It was loaded.

Now that the training is over, the beneficiaries now have a lot of soft skills to leverage on to better their small businesses, improve their online footprint and of course become gainfully employed. It was torrential rain of appreciation from them all to the facilitator of the bootcamp, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi on the final day of the digital training.

Speaking during the presentation of certificates and laptops to the participants on behalf of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, the Director General of Senator Solomon’ Olamilekan Adeola Yayi Campaign Organization, Dr.Isiaq Kunle Salako told the beneficiaries that the best way to show appreciation to the facilitator was to make sure that the digital soft skills they have learnt begin to reflect in their activities online as soon as they get home. The Director General added that digital skills is sine qua non with todays life and it is needed by the participants.

Indeed, the return home of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi has been a blessing to his people. This training is a product of the foresight of the Senator. He is seeing the future from now making him to decide to impart the new normal in the world of business on his people because our world has gone entrepreneural. All businesses including agriculture is now digital based.

With the foresight that Senator Adeola Yayi has deployed so far, and the standard of his programmes, projects and impacts already made in Ogun West, he has proven to the good people of the senatorial district that in him they have a man that worths every votes they can invest in getting right representation at the national assembly. He has so far proven that he ranks right as a representative that can ferret out and bring down due dividends of democracy at the federal level of the nation’s governance that has been eluding Ogun West for the benefit of all.
