For Driving Without Seat Belts, Making Phone Calls While Driving, FRSC Sends 80 Motorists For Mental Check Up

The Federal Road Safety Corps has sent some 80 motorists for mental check up for traffic offences.

The offences ranges from driving without seat belts, making calls while driving and related traffic infractions.

The development is the result of a new road safety enforcement policy.

According to information credited to agency spokesperson Bisi Kazeem, 80 persons were arrested for 86 offences which ranged from driving without seat belts to making phone calls while driving.

The operation is codenamed “Cobra Squad” according to information sourced from a report on online platform premiumtimes.

Further revelations from the report has credited Kazeem with information that “19 people were arrested on the first day for 22 offences. On Sunday, 61 offenders were arrested for 64 violations”.

According to the news spotter, “Driving while making phone calls and driving without seat belts were the most prevalent infractions — at 27 and 23 instances, respectively.”
