Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, has reviewed the operational restriction on commercial tricycles, commonly known as Keke Napep, in Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Local Government Areas in a bid to facilitate the smooth observance of Ramadan activities.

Effective immediately, the restriction, which previously ran from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, has been adjusted to 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM daily throughout the Ramadan fasting period.

This adjustment aims to enable Muslim faithful attend Tafsir sessions without hindrance.

It will be recalled that the Adamawa State Government, through the Restriction of Movement of Tricycles/Motorcycles Executive Order No.1 of 2021, imposed the initial movement restriction in February 2021 as part of security measures in the State.

However, in recognition of the significance of Ramadan, the Government has deemed it necessary to ease the restriction temporarily.

Governor Fintiri has also directed security agencies to intensify surveillance and enhance security operations across the state, particularly in Yola North, Yola South, and Girei, by deploying additional personnel to safeguard lives and property. He warned that any individual found violating the law will face the full weight of the law.

The Governor further urged residents to remain law-abiding and not to engage in activities that could undermine the peace and stability of the state.

He emphasized the need for continued harmony and cooperation to sustain the progress made in fostering peaceful coexistence.
