Finally, New Polaris Bank C.E.O Sonola To Make Public Appearance This Week

Adekunle Sonola, the new Chief Executive Officer – and Group Managing Director – at Polaris bank will make his anticipated first major public appearance this week.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that it will be a back-to-back appearance at two key events.

This first event is the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Polaris bank while the other is the annual Bankers’ Dinner, the prestigious event by the CIBN (Chartered Institute of Bankers). The two events hold two days apart, this week – with the Polaris Bank AGM taking the lead SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Sonola resumed office on Monday, October 24, 2022, on the heels of the acquisition of Polaris Bank by Strategic Capital Investment Limited (‘SCIL’) and was expected to make his first major public appearances the same week at two frontline industry events – the BAFI Awards and The Nigerian Fintech Awards.

The Group Managing Director whose tenure has kicked off with instant gains was, however, absent at the two events where Polaris Bank won major recognitions as “MSME Bank of the Year” and “Best Digital Bank”.

SocietyNow.ng gathered that the helmsman’s travel to the “Northern part of the country” as part of efforts to lay a proper foundation for his tenure to positively impact Polaris Bank made him unable to attend the BAFI ( BusinessDAY’s Banks And Other Financial Institutions) and the Nigerian Fintech Awards.
