Ghost Forest!.  That is the name of the fear evoking central place of operations of kidnappers operating along the Kogi, Abuja Highway societynowng gathered.

The name of the feared place is talked about in hush tones.

Information revealed the ‘’dense forest area’’ said to be located in Kogi state is considered the headquarter of the shadowy figures that have turned menace on the highway.

The Kogi, Abuja Highway as become the dread of travellers as cases of abductions in transit have become the norms. “they snatch victims at will from private and commercial vehicles” a source confirmed.

Abducted individuals are said to be marched into the dense forest and remain hidden until the captors are ready to release them – usually after payments of ransom.

“Once you are taken into Ghost forest..you are gone, some don’t make it out even after payment of the ransom” societynowng gathered.

All manners of ‘’underground trade’’ are said to be conducted in the forest devoid of structures.

They operate on open plains, in the midst of trees and foliages and on hills in hope of leaving no tell tale signs for those tracking them insiders claim. Victims taken into the forest are forced to experience same.

The forest is said to be big and wide and located along Obajana, Kabba road.

“You can trek four hours and still haven’t covered anything from what i hear” a source claimed.

Different gangs engaged in different underground trades are said to cohabit in the feared forest

Names of villages such as Akinso and Odo – Ape are bandied as not too far from the dreaded den of criminal activities, a situation which is said to have made youths of the localities target of raid by security agencies usually trying to rescue kidnapped individuals.
