Fashola’s N7b Rehabilitation Going Down The Drain As Rapists, Muggers Return To Oshodi

The gains of the over seven billion naira spent- by Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State- to rehabilitate former chaotic commercial nerve centre in Lagos state, Oshodi is fast eroding.

The elements that conspired to make the area one the hottest black spots have found their way back- and gradually working in tandem with one another to hold sway at the place once again.

Sources divulged that Rapists, Muggers and other criminal elements have started harassing the commuters and passers- by in the area.

This development is said to have been on for a couple of weeks now- but is being down played.

Before it was rehabilitated for a disclosed cost of N7.2 billion naira by the Lagos state government, Oshodi was the den of criminals of all shades and hues- that thrived in the slums the decadence that enveloped the area.

Their operations was a major blot on the image of the state- but the Fashola Administration turned the phenomenon around with the rehabilitation – though at a greatly controversial fee- and made it one of the major achievements of the administration.

But with the resurgent of criminal elements and gradual return of it attendant decay appears to be stealthily making non sense of that feat at press time.
