Far From Over…Amosun Refuses To Relent In Upstaging Dapo Abiodun With Akinlade As APC Guber Candidate

The battle over who is the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state is far from over.

Societynow.ng learned Governor Ibikunle Amosun has refused to give up attempts to take away the ticket from estranged friend Dapo Abiodun.

The outgoing governor of Ogun state wants Adekunle Akinlade as his successor.

Amosun put his all in making Akinlade the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Ogun state but got a shocker that now heavily threatened his political might.

Political forces in and out of Ogun state – out to cage the growing influence of Amosun – rallied around Abiodun and got him the gubernatorial ticket against the wishes of Amosun.

Though the party has submitted Dapo Abiodun’s name to the Independent Electoral Commission as the recognized candidate and President Muhammadu Buhari appears unwilling to move against the powers backing Abiodun, sources insist Amosun has refused to let go of the matter.

“He said as recent as yesterday (Friday, October 20) that Akinlade will definitely become the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Ogun state” a source claim.

Societynow.ng confirmed that this development comes after reports went all over the town that Amosun has accepted Abiodun has APC gubernatorial candidate in Ogun and promised to give his all to the latter’s campaign.

“Obviously, the reports are far from reality. Amosun has refused to back down and still working round the clock to knock off Abiodun and replace him with Akinlade as APC gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state” an insider disclosed.
