Far From It! Glo Reveals No Employee Sacked For Being Married

Telecommunication company Globacom says no employee was sacked for being married.

Rather the company spokesperson, Andrew Okeleke disclosed in a recent chat that some staffers who fall short of the expected standard were let go doing a routine performances appraisal.

Okeleke who made the clarification at a formal meet this afternoon explained that the exercise affected all employees, irrespective of gender or marital status.

The telecommunication company’s head of public relations set the record straight in the face of allegations Globacom just sacked about 90 female staffers for being married.

Okeleke disclosed the letters being used to ‘’back’’ the allegation in public space as ‘’fake’’.

Rather than target women for sack, the top level staffer disclosed that they provided ample opportunities for advancement as exemplified in a recent promotion to key positions replacing men they are deemed better qualified than.

He insists there are quite a number of married women working at the telecommunication company and that they are doing quite well.
