Eyes On Sanwo-Olu As Pressure Mounts On Ant-Drug Agency To Prosecute Aide, Funke In Dug Up Drug Case

All eyes are on the governor-elect of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwoolu in the drug case hanging on the neck of one of his aides, Olufunke Philips.

Phillips was the digital manager of the campaign that won the recent gubernatorial election for Sanwoolu.

Details emerged that she absconded – after getting bail – in illegal possession of cocaine case in 2007.

Phillips, along with others now at large, was charged by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) with illegal possession of 3.14 kilograms of cocaine.

According to the revelations now haunting Phillips she disappeared, along with her accomplices, after securing bail in an arraignment before Justice P.I Ajoku of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court.

The scandal on Phillips past broke out after Sanwoolu’s victory at the poll.

Phillips has kept sealed lips on the development, same for Sanwoolu and his campaign team.

The Governor-Elect released all commissioned and volunteer staff of his campaign team, a couple of days after the scandal hit the town.

News platform, Premiumtimes.ng did a follow-up story that anti-corruption agency NDLEA has failed to act on the scandal over a week after it broke out.

Societynow.ng learned that a close watch is being kept on Sanwoolu to see whether he would turn a blind eye as well and accommodate Phillips in his government.

The Governor – Elect’s campaign digital manager is widely labeled a hard worker who threw all she into getting her tasks done.

Philips is said to be well loved within the disbanded campaign team.

Societynow.ng learned whether the ‘’love for her would overshadow the scandal from her past is why all eyes are on Sanwoolu at present’’.

‘’It’s really a shame this is happening to her, but then…the reality is the reality’’ an insider stated tersely.
