Governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun is keen to leave an enduring legacy.

And it appears he may not be afraid of the sacrifice to be made.

The front man of Ogun state is about to embark on a Ten Road project in Abeokuta Ogun state.

The affected area is described as from ‘’Oke Igbein Government House to the Interchange’’.

And the much loved property of former President Olusegun Obasanjo known as Obasanjo Presidential Library (OPL) is listed as an impediment.
‘’Not all the 25 hectares land but a stretch of the fence that would need to be demolished to cut into a bit of the land’’ a source explained.

Information available revealed based on initial assessments the project handlers marked the fence to be demolished about 8.6 metres back.

But state Governor, Amosun is said to be having second thoughts on how huge the cost he is about to incur is compared to the gains of the legacy of a 10 lane road project.

It is feared the demolition of OPL fence and incursion into the property would draw the ire of the former President and set up a chain reaction against the governor that may be hard to stem.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a strong voice in the affairs of Ogun state.

Governor Amosun on the second of his legally allowed two term is very passionate about installing is choice as successor – as well as moving to the Senate as his next political destination.

It is believed in several quarters he needs the kind of influence at the disposal of the former president to achieve his objectives.

An insider disclose the governor  is currently mulling whether to go ahead with the planned demolition, reduce the earmarked setback or find a way to get chief Obasanjo to sign off on it.

At press time information is rife the project handlers have been instructed to maintain a .0 meter setback while the Ogun state front man come to a final conclusion.

Added information have it outside of former President Obasanjo’s ‘’property’’ several buildings and structures have are already marked to give in way for the 10 lane road project.
