Ex-Gov Daniel Lists Major Projects He Executed In Remo As Quarrel With Abiodun Intensifies
transformative projects he executed in Remoland
Gbenga Daniel, the Senator representing Ogun East, has released details of several transformative projects he executed in Remoland while serving as Governor.
Daniel, who owns one of the four most powerful political structures in Ogun, was the state’s Governor from May 29, 2003, to May 29, 2011.
He released the list of high-impact undertakings under the header “Lest We Forget” amid an intense supremacy tussle with Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Abiodun, who was first elected Governor in 2019 and re-elected in 2023, shares the same political base as Daniel—Remoland.
Daniel was part of the coalition of political forces that helped Abiodun rise to power in 2019, but they fell out immediately after, due to reasons attributed to “actions and inactions” following the swearing-in ceremony.
Their political differences deepened when Daniel became Senator despite opposition from Abiodun—even though they belong to the same party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speculations that Abiodun is eyeing the senatorial seat after completing his second term in 2027 have further escalated their political rift.

Since becoming Senator, Daniel has remained active, launching initiatives that endear him to the populace and party members, including cash and material empowerments.
The release of some of his flagship projects from his tenure as Governor is believed to be part of a strategy to reinforce his image as a performer with a solid track record.
The list was shared on a social media page dedicated to the Senator’s activities, with the assertion:”These projects, initiated by Otunba Gbenga Daniel, have had a profound impact on the development of Remoland, and it is essential to remember and appreciate his contributions to the region.”
Here are the listed projects…
- Sagamu International Stadium:
Construction of the Sagamu International Stadium, a world-class facility that has hosted various national and international events, promoting sports development and entertainment in the region.

- Ogere/Ode Remo Trailer Park:
Establishment of the Ogere/Ode Remo Trailer Park on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, along with the construction of a Gatoil Petrol Fueling Station. (If a subsequent administration undermines or fails to realize the objectives of this initiative, the people should question why.)
