Operatives of the financial crimes watchdog- Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (E.F.C.C) this morning picked up Ogala, the first son of former Chairman of ruling political party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Alli.

His arrest is said to be part of investigations into allegation of fuel subsidy scam against him.

He is alleged to have received fuel subsidy fund- and simply ‘pocketed’ it.

Insiders revealed that as at 12.30p.m, the PDP bigwig was seen making spirited efforts to secure his son’s release.

According to information made available to societynowng.com- there are strong indications the arrested known as Adah in some quarters will be released today.

Sources claimed the case against him is also interwoven with his father’s indictment for in a N6b subsidy fraud when he supervised the governing board of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA)

The House of Representatives fuel subsidy probe panel that indicted the powerful politician recommended his prosecution.

The politician is believed to have facilitated his son’s involvement in the fuel subsidy scheme.

The believe in some quarters is that Ogala’s arrest is an indirect way of opening investigation into the indictment against the retired military officer aspiring to succeed ex president Obansanjo as Chairman Board of Trustees of the ruling political party, PDP.
