Doyin Okupe Suffers Double Humliation Same Day

Recently Former gubernatorial aspirant and ex presidential spokes person Mr Doyin Okupe suffered a double dose of public humiliation.

According to those in the know the incident transpired in the course of attempts by the politician to congratulate President Goodluck Jonathan on his recent re election.

Along with other notable Nigerians Okupe is said to have visited Aso Rock on Tuesday April ,19 2011.

But while others were allowed entry – Okupe was stopped at the gate and ordered to turn back Aso Rock security.

The gate keepers claimed that Okupe’s name was not listed on the visitors list and so had no business been at the place at all.

An infuriated Okupe was said to have attempted to verbal force his way in to no avail with tirades of his former status as an ex powerful figure at the presidential villa and presumed closeness to the President based on his antecedent.

The custodians of security were said to have totally ignored him and allowed other visitors in.

This is Said to be despite Okupe’s insistence that he is familiar with procedures that allowed unlisted guests to have access to the president.

Okupe’s harangue tagged ‘embarrassing for someone of his status at such a place’ was reportedly cut short by the appearance of Governor of Ogun state,Gbenga Daniel.

The embattled state head man was said to have moved near Okupe and said to the hearing of those nearby ‘ You, you bite the finger that fed you..you are a disgrace’

Otunba Daniel was said to have verbally heckled Doyin Okupe- who remained mute all through the governor’s assault.

An alleged visibly rattled Okupe was said to have scampered from the place after Daniel left him and went in to see the president.

‘according to source the incident is the latest ingredient for jokes of different colours amongst security details and a couple of the witnesses in Aso Rock now’

Sources trace Governor Daniel’s grouse to claims that he was Okupe’s benefactor when the former spokes person fell out with mentor and ex President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Okupe have crossed back to the camp of Chief Obasanjo in the battle for the soul of Ogun state that has greatly weakened the influence and status of Otunba Daniel.

Okupe is yet to make a return to achieve is aim of seeing the President- a move observers now tag political opportunism- since the incident happened.
