Details: Wife, Elizabeth Acquitted As Ex-Bank M.D Francis Atuche Is Sent To Prison
The N25.7Billion reportedly belonged to the defunct Bank PHB
Elizabeth, the wife of Francis Atuche, the former Managing Director of Bank PHB (defunct) will not be spending any day in prison.
But the same cannot be said of her husband.
Atuche and his wife and another person, Ugo Anyanwu – the former Chief Financial Offcier of Bank PHB- were prosecuted in a N25.7Billion corruption case.
The N25.7Billion reportedly belonged to the defunct Bank PHB.
Pronouncing judgment in the case, Justice Lateefa Okunnu of the Lagos State High Court Ikeja acquitted and discharged Elizabeth Atuche.
Her husband, Francis Atuche was handed a 12years prison term for fraud while Ugo Anyawu was given 10years sentence for stealing and conspiracy to steal.
The checks by societynow.ng revealed that the trio were first arraigned before Justice Okunnu by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2011.
