The palace of a popular monarch has been attacked by yet to be identified gunmen.

The victim is identified as the Kindred head of Jor Fada, Chief Terhile Atser in Gboko, Benue State.
The attackers said to be about five stormed the palace around N1.45a.m on Friay, May 14, 2021.
According to Mr Robert Nomishu, the younger brother of the victim, the assailants wore masks and were armed with guns, axes and clubs.
They reportedly enquired after the traditional ruler who was absent and started destroying valuables at the palace for over one hour.
Properties destroyed during the attack reportedly include vehicles, motorcycles and personal belongings.
