Details: Osinbajo’s Aide Retains Title As Senior Special Adviser To Vice President

As at press time, a prominent face in the team of former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is still holding onto his former title.

This is happening seven months after the aide left office with his principal, Osinbajo.

Laolu Akande still bears the title Senior Special Assistant – Media & Publicity to the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on his social media profile(Facebook) according to checks.

Akande used – and is still using – the page to spread news about Osinbajo.

His last post made on October 24, 2023, at 8.21a.m, was the cover of “The Quest Times” with the headline “How EX-VP Osinbajo Saved Nigeria From $11.4bn P&D Scam”.

Meanwhile, Femi Adesina who served immediate past President Muhammadu Buhari has adjusted his social media page (Facebook) to read ” Special Adviser Media & Publicity To Former President Buhari”.

Buhari and Osinbajo along with their aides, including Akande and Adesina, left office on May 29, 2023, for President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to be sworn in – and take over reigns of power after winning the February 25, 2023, Presidential election.

President Tinubu in September 2023, approved the appointments of 18 aides for Vice President Shettima with Kingsley Nkwocha named as Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications while Olusola Abiola holds the position of the Director of Information Office of the Vice President.
