The checks by societynow.ng revealed that the number one custodian of culture and tradition in Yoruba land, the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is still keeping sealed lips over the sacrilege committed at the palace of Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu.

Hoodlums masquerading as those angered by the shooting of unarmed #EndSars protesters – at Lekki Toll-Gate on Tuesday, October 20, 2021 – invaded the palace of the Oba of Lagos Rilwan Akiolu at Ita Iduganra, Lagos Island on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, and vandalized and looted the place.

The king’s traditional Staff Of Office ( Opa Ase) was taken away and valuables including money and personal items stolen from the palace.

The “Opa Ase” was sacrilegiously paraded on the streets as images of the vandals swimming in the private pool of the Oba as well as making away with properties in the palace trend about town.

The traditional staff office was later put on sale amid claims of recovery.
