Details: Grieving Betty Akeredolu Cut Ties With Past Episodes

Betty, the widow of the immediate past Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu appears to cut ties with certain past episodes.

A major pointer to this is the recent happening on the social media page – Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu (on Facebook) – of the grieving former first lady of Ondo state.

There has been a deep clean-up that has resulted in the removal of many posts.

Some of the removed posts captured engagements over the illness of late Akeredolu and other things that happened in between, it appeared she doesn’t want to be reminded of – including her suspended and later canceled 70th birthday celebration in July 2023.

The last post on the social media page – Facebook – that was very active till around December 26, 2023, now reads May 7, 2023.

Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023.

According to his son, Oluwarotimi O Akeredolu Jnr, the formidable former Governor of Ondo state ” peacefully departed in his sleep at a Hospital in Germany, where he was undergoing treatment for protracted prostate cancer”.

Akeredolu’s death attracted widespread reactions of great loss and sorrowing across different divides, plus President Bola Tinubu who declared his demise “ a national tragedy“.

The widely respected influential politician will be buried on Friday, February 23, 2024.
