Underestimate him at your own peril! That appears to be the case with Dino Melaye at present.

After the lavish display of wealth and careless abandon of the emotions that swept him into polemical office, the immediate past Senator from Kogi West is gradually slinking back to his old game – siding with the masses.

And Melaye who paraded his extraordinarily furnished homes and cars acquired at an unforgivable cost -to the masses he represents – his playing all the right cards.

He has famously admitted “Everyone who held and is holding any political office in Nigeria whether elective or appointed, including myself, have failed. We sold crude oil for 64 years, but we couldn’t feed our citizens for just two weeks of lockdown. Well, the God of the poor will judge us all. It is time to reboot.” in the bid to secure acceptance again.

Melaye is not stopping at that, the former Senator has taken action a case that affects the rights of the people, he has sued the “government” over the controversial “control of infection disease bill 2020” that seeks to take away the rights of victims of infectious diseases and give the government the power to take over private properties in the fight against such diseases.

“The twin action is instructive, the admission of guilt and moving to help a situation, properly construed and well built on they help to secure acceptance far and near” a source pointed out.

Societynow.ng’s checks revealed that Melaye is, of course, helping himself in no small measure by not “showing off his exorbitant cars and symptoms living again”.

Rather the ” Senator” now doles out visuals and videos where he lends helping hands to the needy societynow.ng confirmed.

Before his adventure in the Senate and subsequent crass show of wealth – which he refused to back down from in the face of huge public outcry until he was booted out of the Senate – Melaye sided aggressively sides with the people until he was elected.

“He might have sponsored some good bills but his public displays and antics eroded societal values on good conduct and certainly did not boost the confidence of the public in the institutions he represented, the National Assembly” societynow.ng learned.

Now out in the cold, and seeking re-entry into the corridors of power – it is believed Melaye is trying to re-enact the magic of old by been seen as siding and becoming the voice of the people to achieve his aim.
