President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa have taken different positions over Olu of Warri Kingship tussle.

While President Muhammadu Buhari has acknowledged and congratulated the Tsola Emiko, the new Olu of Warri designate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa says the state government is not aware a new King has been chosen.

The Delta State Government through the commissioner for information Charles Aniagwu asserts that it is not even aware that the 20th Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli is demised not to talk of the emergence of a successor.

” The Delta State Government has not been informed that the Olu of Warri has passed away. For us, we are not aware that Olu of Warri has died” the Commissioner stated in a report monitored by societynow.ng on thenationonlineng.net.

This development is in the face of widespread reports of different news platforms about the death of the Olu of Warri and the attendant controversy surrounding the selection of his successor which include claims the ancient crown is missing.

Tsola Emiko has been announced successor in a move that is attracting stiff resistance from a faction led by Ayari Emami, the Ologbotsere of Warri.

“The Delta State Government has not been informed that the Olu of Warri has passed away. For us, we are not aware that Olu of Warri has died.

“To us, there’s no controversy because we were not informed. The issue of the Olu of Warri is the same thing to all the communities.
