Details: Bimbo Ashiru’s Focus In The Midst Of Ogun Political Dramas
went on to play a major role in the emergence of Abiodun as the Governor
The focus of popular name Abimbola Ashiru in the midst of different shades of political dramas rocking Ogun state has been revealed.
Ashiru came to political reckoning in the Ogun state as one of the major players in the administration of Amosun as the Governor of Ogun State.
Amosun, 63, was the Governor of Ogun State from 29 May 2011 to 29 May 2019 and Ashiru served as the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the two terms of four years each.
Ashiru went on to play a major role in the emergence of Abiodun as the Governor of Ogun State in 2019 when he joined forces with other players to stop Amosun from making the candidate of another party – Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People’s Movement – his preferred successor.
Amosun 63, Ashiru, 58, and Abiodun,61 are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In the face of political dramas unraveling within his party in Ogun state over this and that, SocietyNow.Ng learned that “Ashiru remains committed to the same principle, party first. It was this principle that determined the course of his actions in 2019 and he insists to friends that his position remains unchanged and that pending when an official position is taken by the party he remains committed to his role as Director at Odu’a Investment Limited ”
Bims as he is fondly addressed by friends currently represents Ogun State on the Board of Directors of Odu’a Investment Company Limited, the strategic investment and asset management firm owned by Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo states.
