Popular actors Odunlade Adekola and Murphy Afolabi nearly got beaten at the Presidential campaign held in Ogun state yesterday – Monday, February 11, 2019.

Sources confirmed to societynow.ng that the actors – and other known names – were drafted to the M.K.O Abiola venue of the political event to support the gubernatorial ambition of All Progressives Congress candidate Dapo Abiodun.

Sources disclosed that unfortunately for the contracted entertainers, members of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) rooting for Adekunle Akinlade as the next governor of Ogun state outnumbered that of the APC at the venue.

Akinlade, the preferred candidate by Governor Amosun as a successor is the gubernatorial flag bearer of the APM.

APM has adopted Buhari as its Presidential candidate and has the intense backing of Governor Amosun hence the heavy presence of its members at the rally.

Societynow.ng gathered that before the arrival of the President Murphy Afolabi had attempted to justify attendance by attempting to promote the ‘’vote for APC Agenda’’ at the stadium.

‘’The hundreds of APM members present immediately swooped on the corner the actors stood and almost assaulted them physically but for heavy pleas from Adekola and others’’ societynow.ng gathered.

The APM members refused to allow any form of visibility for APC and its candidates in the state, except that of President Buhari and Ibikunle Amosun.

Insiders disclosed that though Murphy Afolabi, Odunlade Adekola and others escaped physical assault they were severely tongue lashed and heavily threatened.

Societynow.ng, however, learned that hangers-on around the actors suffered a couple of slaps and knocks from the APM goons.
