Details As Dapo Abiodun Takes Over Case Of Footballer ‘’Kaaka’’ -Remo Stars Captain – Allegedly Killed By SARS Officers

The governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun has taken over the case of the killing of footballer Tiamiyu Kazeem popularly known as Kaaka.

Kaaka was the captain of Remo Stars, a football club in Ogun State.

He was allegedly killed by men of the Federal Special Anti- Robbery Squad better known as FSars over allegations of been an internet fraudster.

A statement by the club signed by media officer Dimeji Oshode alleged the FSars officers pushed Kaaka in front of an oncoming car which knocked and killed him.

The Club asserted the deceased was arrested while driving his car with one of his teammates Sanni Abubakar as a passenger.

The police command in Ogun state denied the allegation regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of the footballer but admitted he died in the custody of one of its officers.

The police claimed Kaaka was arrested for wearing military fatigue but was knocked down by an oncoming car when he attempted to flee from the arresting officer in the course of fixing the police van which developed mechanical problem.

Societynow.ng’s checks revealed many rejected the police version of the events as more details of the development come to the fore amid a growing call for the prosecution of the police officers involved in the tragic affair.

Governor Dapo Abiodun has, however, waded into the development.

The governor declared that ‘’I want to personally assure everyone that we are on top of the case, and we will be launching an independent investigation that will ensure everyone found culpable is brought to book’’.
