Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election is mediating in the festering feud between former Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his successor Dapo Abiodun SocietyNow.ng learned.

“Asiwaju has been brokering peace between the two before Amosun’s declaration on Friday” according to those in the know.

Amosun

Amosun on Friday, August 5, 203 declared that he doesn’t want Abiodun, the gubernatorial candidate of his party – APC- for the 2023 election as the next governor of Ogun state.

The declaration by Amosun who was voraciously against Abiodun’s emergence as his successor in 2019 has been generating a lot of heat.

SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed that while he is against the candidate of the APC as the next Governor of Ogun State, Amosun who is the Senator representing Ogun Central is working for the candidate of the party, Asiwaju Tinubu as the next President.

Tinubu

“The true picture is that Asiwaju has been mediating in the fight between Amosun and Abiodun, especially since he emerged as APC presidential candidate. The fight is interwoven with a lot of vested interests at stake which has given Abiodun a very strong footing to refuse recommendations regarding what Amosun is demanding in the name of harmonization of structures.” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Inside information has it that Asiwaju remains neck-deep in brokering a compromise to harmonize the officially recognized APC faction with Abiodun as the leader and sidelined group headed by Amosun despite the former governor’s declaration on Friday.

Abiodun

“Amosun’s declaration that attracted hammer responses from Abiodun’s men is being treated as trying to get an edge in the mediation by Asiwaju Tinubu” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Described as “unending ” since it erupted into the open in 2018, the fight between the estranged friends – Amosun and Abiodun – has been boosting the chances of the opposition parties in Ogun state, ahead of the 2023 election.
