Details As Amosun & Abiodun Finally Meet

Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Ibikunle Amosun have finally met.

And it was a “public affair”.

The meeting which happened on Saturday, October 29, 2022, was a rare encounter between the political chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on opposing sides.

Amosun who declared publicly that he is against Abiodun’s second-term ambition met “face to face” with the Governor at the installation ceremony of professor Saka Matemilola as the new Olowu of Owu.

“There was a slight tension but nothing threatening because they did all they could to avoid each other” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Amosun who is backing Biyi Otegbeye, the flagbearer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the next Governor of Ogun State attended the event as one of the shining lights of Owu, Abeokuta while Abiodun from another division of Ogun State (Remo) was the investing authority.

Abiodun is the candidate of the APC for the 2023 election.

Amosun as incumbent Governor also did not support Abiodun in the election that earned him his first term in office in 2019.

Their unending fight has seen Abiodun takeover the APC structure in Ogun State- after a string of wins that saw Amosun corner appointments from the federal government for his men – in a winner takes all move.
