Governorship candidate Bayo Adelabu Is perfecting a big plan, sources in the know just confided in societynow.ng.

And the plan is straight forward – to take over the party structure of All Progressive Congress in Oyo state, insiders maintain.

Mr Adelabu a former Deputy Governor Central Bank Of Nigeria was the candidate of ruling APC in Oyo State during the 2019 election.

He was trounced at the pool by the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party Engineer Seyi Makinde.

Those who are familiar with how the game is playing out have revealed the fact that he still has his eye on the governorship position of Oyo state as the reason behind his new move.

“I’m very sure Adelabu will contest again in 2023 and he has started planning for that. Part of the plan is to ensure he control the Party structure in the state. He does not want to give things to chances… and from what I’m seeing I can confidently tell you he’s getting it right”, one of his men disclosed.

Further checks revealed Adelabu is constantly in touch with all that matter in Oyo politics and ready to commit all it requires to make sure his plan materialized.

“That is why you see him hobnobbing with the party’s state executives  as well as all the 33 chairmen of All Progressives Congress  at the local government level at regular intervals”, a reliable source disclosed.

Before now governor Abiola Ajimobi was obviously the go-to-man as far as Oyo state APC politics is concerned.

But the defeat that befell him at the general election appears to have reduced his influence among his party men especially as his tenure ends in few days from now.

More so as party faithfuls sees him as responsible for the APC loss at elections citing his style of leadership.

Incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi contested the Oyo South senatorial election but lost to Kola Balogun candidate of main opposition People’s Democratic Party.

According to sources the idea behind Adelabu’s move is to actually create a situation that would place him on good footing ahead 2023 election.

This would ultimately transform him a force that cannot be pushed aside when the time comes, a grounded source maintained.
