Details: Access Bank C.E.O Ogbonna Did Not Launch Bitcoin Bank, Crypto Product

Chief Executive Officer, Roosevelt Michael Ogbonna has neither endorsed nor launched any Bitcoin bank or cryptocurrency product Access Bank has declared.

The bank issued a statement that refutes contrary claims in some quarters.

The statement by Access Bank also asserted that quotes and interviews attributed to the Chief Executive Officer to back the contrary claims are “completely false”

“The quotes also attributed to Mr Ogbonna in the contrived interview are also completely false”, the statement declared and stated emphatically that “For the record, at no time did Mr Ogbonna grant any interview on the subject of a Bitcoin bank or made any comment on cryptocurrency business.

“Access Bank continues to maintain its absolute commitment to excellent practices in accordance with the laws of Nigeria.”

The statement also provided deeper insight that the Bank is working with the authorities to determine the source of the fake news, apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“The board, management and staff remain committed to transparency, outstanding corporate governance, and the promotion of global best practices for the good of our customers and all stakeholders” the statement monitored by SocietyNow.Ng on DailyPost.Ng stated.

Access Bank reportedly issued the “disclaimer” to shut the lid on emerging reports that Chief Executive Officer Ogbonna just launched a cryptocurrency product on behalf of the bank.

A development the Bank has labeled “completely false”.
