Demola Adeleke, after an intense battle with the influences and clout of governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola, confirmed his defection from the All Progressives Congress today with his action.

He stormed the Iwo Township venue of the shadow election by the People’s Democratic Party to decide candidate for the Osun West Senatorial district bye election.

The election scheduled for july 8 is meant to determine the next occupier of the senatorial position formerly held by Demola’s elder brother the more famous Isiaka Adeleke.

Demola Adeleke is primed to pick the PDP ticket based on political arrangement that made him abandon the APC ship.

He had engaged in a fierce battle of wit, influence and clout with Governor Aregbesola before he dumped the APC.

The governor had fought hard to make his chosen man Mudasiru Hussein the APC candidate against the influences backing Demola.

The passionate fight has seen Aregbesola’s choice disqualified, his appeal rejected before a last minute effort got him cleared to contest.

Mudasiru’s clearance had sent strong signals of Aregbesola’s growing grip on the process to Demola and he immediately opted out of the party.

Digs however revealed, the political fight that gave Aregbesola a run for his money is not that of Demola’s making.

Insiders disclose behind the whole facade of clout and influence stands Deji Adeleke, the billionaire father of popular singer Davido.

Sources claim the man of means the power house teleguiding Demola’s moves through his vast network of friends and associates within and outside of the APC.

And the Demola’s move to the PDP?

It was made with the billionaire’s blessings as well sources say.
