The All Progressives Congress has dropped Dapo Abiodun as the party’s gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state.

Adekunle Akinlade, the preferred aspirant of Governor Ibikunle Amosun is said have now been adopted as party’s flag bearer for the 2019 gubernatorial election.

This development is attributed to the intervention from President Muhammadu Buhari.

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress had declared Abiodun as the gubernatorial candidate while the state chapter of the party declared Akinlade as the winner of the gubernatorial primary election held in Ogun state.

Societynow.ng learned Amosun who has the ears and eyes of the President had taken his case to the president alleging victimization by the national chairman of the party Adams Oshiomole.

“And this move has obviously paid off” a source pointed out socetynow.ng.

Akinlade gleefully confirmed the development with “we made it” post on his Facebook page.

It is unclear what step Abiodun would take over this development.
