Court Reduces Maina’s Bail From N1billio To N500m In Pension Fund Fraud Case

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Okon Abang, has on Tuesday, reviewed the bail conditions it imposed on a former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina , who is being tried for corruption.

The court in a fresh ruling, reduced the bail sum from N 1bn to N 500m .
The judge issued this fresh directive in a ruling on Maina’s application for review of the conditions of the bail earlier granted by the court.

The judge also reviewed his order which stated that the defendant must produce as sureties two serving senators who owned landed assets worth N 500 m each in the highbrow Asokoro or Maitama , Abuja .

The judge changed the order to Maina providing only one serving senator with property worth N 500m in either Asokoro , Maitama, Wuse II , Central Business District or Katampe , Abuja
