Claims Lagos Speaker Meranda’s Police Escort Have Been Withdrawn Trend

Emerging details indicate that the police escort guarding the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has been withdrawn.

Insiders disclosed that the development was labelled as taking effect “with immediate effect.”

This has sparked concerns about the Speaker’s safety amid the ongoing unravelings within the legislative body, especially because the house is on indefinite recess.

This happenstance adds to the drama that has engulfed the Lagos State House of Assembly since the removal of Mudashiru Obasa and Meranda’s election as the first female Speaker of the Lagos Assembly.

Although Obasa kicked against his replacement, members insisted that he remained removed and went on to pass a vote of confidence at different times on Meranda as the substantive Speaker.
