BUA Partners With Green Power On 20MW Gas Plant For Its LNG Facility
providing dedicated, reliable, and clean power.
In a strategic move to bolster its energy infrastructure, BUA Group has signed an agreement with Green Power International PVT Limited for the construction of a 20MW gas-based power plant.
The facility is intended to support the BUA LNG project by providing dedicated, reliable, and clean power.
The agreement was signed by Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, and Ashu Jain, Executive Director of Green Power International, at BUA’s Middle East office in Dubai.
The partnership reflects BUA Group’s broader commitment to energy sustainability and operational efficiency.
By developing an independent power source, the company aims to reduce reliance on the national grid and ensure uninterrupted energy supply for its LNG operations in Nigeria.

Green Power International, known for its expertise in gas-based energy solutions, will oversee the design, engineering, and construction of the plant using advanced, low-emission technology.
Both companies view the project as a significant step forward in promoting cleaner energy within Nigeria’s industrial sector.
Once completed, the 20MW plant will not only enhance the performance and resilience of the BUA LNG project but also serve as an example of industrial self-sufficiency and environmentally conscious power generation.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025, with commissioning targeted for late 2026.
