Bola Shagaya’s Son, Sheriff’s House Of Reps’ Ambition In Troubled Start

The political ambition of Sheriff, the son of influential business woman, Hajia Bola Shagaya is on a shaky start.

The Managing Director of Kashton Concept Nigeria limited wants to represent the people of Asa West, Kwara state in the House of Representatives in 2015.

But the new breed faces intense competition from more experinced politician and incumbent, Hon. Moshood Mustapha and another aspirant and popular state law maker- Rasak Atunwa.

Bola Shagaya Both Mustapha and Atunwa are described as having huge grassroot following and sway in the state. Sherif relies on offer of being a fresh and younger option plus the heavy weight of his mother’s extra ordinary rapport with the presidency (President Goodluck Jonathan through his wife, Dame Patience) to counter the steel of oppositions.

While the wealthy Hajia Bola Shagaya is believed to have paved way for her son’s upcoming nomination as the flag bearer of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the House of Representatives slot in the state, Sherif is said to have initiated an engagement programme with his constituency.

He has initiated and perfected series of empowerment gestures to boast goodwill and popularity ahead of the election.
Sources on ground however insist the son in law of another powerful PDP figure, Bamanga Tukur faces a growing campaign that has put his campaign on a growing troubled start.

His gestures and moves are being interpreted as ‘a greek gift’ to get what he wants. Those behind this growing talks on the streets back it with claims that despite her massive wealth and vast connection, his mother and noted government contractor Hajia Bola Shagaya remained indifferent to the plight of the community – until the need to wean support for Sherif’s ambition.

The corridors of power player’s abandonment of her ‘people’ is said to be such that no noticeable individual or institution in the area can be tagged ‘ a success of her support’.

Even her estranged husband, Gani faced quite a chunk of hardship until things started picking up a bit recently sources alleged.

Maintain a source ‘that she now visits the same state and community to solicit support for her son’s ambition shows she how she rates the constituency- people you throw crumbs at to get what you want’

Further digs revealed it a groundswell of such perception that Sherif is fighting- and has placed his ambition on a troubled start.

Watchers of event however discern, outside of the politics of his mother’s shadow- he appears ‘a breath of fresh air with his outlook and approach’.
