For about seven (7) years, Pastor Tunde Bakare of the latter Rain Assembly – renamed The Citadel Global Community Church – was engaged in a fierce and famous public fight with Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church World better known as Winners Chapel.

The fight was such that Pastor Bakare took every opportunity to tear into the teachings of Bishop Oyedepo.

One of the heights of the famous fight was Bakare’s shredding of one of the spiritual books authored by Bishop Oyedepo tagging it as “heresy”.

The fierce opposition against Oyedepo by Bakare later abated and totally disappeared and the Winners Chapel founder has revealed the step he took to achieve this.

Bishop Oyedepo during the just concluded annual Shiloh programme disclosed that

“We had an experience, my wife and I on British airways: someone that had been standing against our Ministry for 7 years consistently, unabated. Got to a point where he tore my books, trampled upon it, and said, “this is the devil”.

“ Neither did I know he was on board that plane. My wife was a bit apprehensive, because he had gone to greet my wife, wondering what I would do with him.

“As I boarded the plane and I saw him, “hey, how are you? How have you been? How is your family?”
No premonition.

“I am going somewhere, don’t block my way there!”

It is believed that this move started the turnaround in Bishop Oyedepo’s relationship with Pastor Bakare.

Bishop Oyedepo, however, inferred that the attacks by Pastor Adeboye soared his ministry with the disclosure that

“I knew where we were when the attacks started and thank God for where grace has brought us. If I allowed bitterness in me, we will not get here.

Are you in love with Christ? freely forgive. Then you find your future opening up with new chapters.”
