A political face-off is on.

And on either side are golden sons of political leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

At stake is the Senatorial seat of Lagos East.

Incumbent Senator Gbenga Ashafa wants to go for another term in office, but Bayo Oshinowo the politician popularly known as pepper wants to take his seat.

Both Oshinowo and Ashafa draw political influence from Asiwaju Tinubu.

Osinowo wants to move to the Senate after four terms as a member of the Lagos state House of Assembly.

Sources disclosed Osinowo is emboldened by the “extraordinary work” he is doing for Tinubu as a state lawmaker.

Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng that, the politician widely known as Pepper backs the interests of Tinubu at every turn, including spearheading a headlong opposition against the re-election bid of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Osinowo represents Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Added information has it that Pepper goes against Ashafa with an intimidating grass root presence, but is dwarfed by the sophistication of the incumbent Senator representing Lagos East.

Like Pepper, Ashafa is hugely pro Asiwaju Tinubu.

But unlike pepper, the Senator speaks the language of Abuja crowd.

Ashafa is said to enjoy the confidence of Remi, his co-Senator, and wife of Tinubu in his re-election bid.

Both are working together to protect the interests of Tinubu in the Senate.

Ashafa is banking on his track record as a two terms Senator and, generosity to the party hierarchy and empowerment efforts to his constituents to retain his ticket.

Both Pepper and Ashafa have made their ambitions known to party leaders.

“And apparently, both are not ready to back down for each other in pursuit of the party ticket” a source disclosed.

Senator Ashafa and State lawmaker Osinowo belong to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Societynow.ng learned the faceoff would eventually end up in Tinubu deciding who gets to do a number on the other person.
