The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)Tmipre Sylva is back on the ballot in the race to determine the next governor of Bayelsa state courtesy of the ruling of the court of appeal.
But he has another issue to contend with just days before the November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election.
Another major pillar of his political stricture has switched camp.
Diekivie Ikiogha, former Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Bayelsa State, has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The former commissioner joins the camp of re-election seeking Governor Duoye Diri along with many other supporters of Sylva.
They were received at a rally in Kpansia, Yenagoa on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
The development has become a major campaign point for Governor Diri and his team.
Diekivie Ikiogha defection adds to the list of Sylva’s strong men that have jumped ship ahead of the November 11, 2023, gubernatorial election including strong men Faye Jacob and Meremubio Adamnegbe.
