Aspirants Wear Tough Faces, Talks Of Gun Shots All Over Town As Ogun APC Guber Primary Holds

The All Progressives Congress party gubernatorial primary election goes down today in Ogun state.

Societynow.ng learned the build up has certainly not been as easy as many envisaged.

And everything points to a mean APC gubernatorial primary election going down today.

A stakeholders meeting between the electoral panel and all the gubernatorial aspirants was disrupted yesterday as gunshots rented the air.

Soicetynow.ng learned the meeting which held at the Mitros Residences, Ibara GRA Abeokuta Ogun state abruptly ended at about 11.30 p.m when thugs loyal to the gubernatorial aspirants engaged in serial confrontations and gunshots rented the air.

The talks of the gunshots incidents are said to be the most topical discussion around town today.

These developments background the atmosphere today as aspirants wear tough faces in preparation for a major showdown over who gets the party ticket.

Amongst those battling hard for the party ticket are Adekunle Akinlade (the preferred candidate of governor Ibikunle Amosun), Dapo Abiodun, Bimbo Ashiru, Gbenga Kaka and Jimi Lawal.

The other aspirants have serially accused Governor Amosun of plotting a voting exercise that would result in the emergence of his preferred candidate as the winner.

“And they have vowed to resist any form of manipulation” a source disclosed and explained “it is this hard postured resistance that is creating huge tension in the state”.

Societynow.ng gathered that many see last night’s gunshots incident as a strong indication of what is in the offing today, except security agencies rise up to the occasion.
