Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday met behind closed doors with some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The consultative meeting, which started few minutes after 11.00 a.m, ended around 2. 45 p.m.
Among those at the meeting included the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and Chief Bisi Akande. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Others included the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Sulaiman Lasun and the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume.

Also at the meeting were the National Chairman of APC, John Odegie-Oyegun, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, Imo State deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, Minister of Science and Tech, Ogbonnaya Onu, Chief Tony Momoh, APC Deputy National Chairman (South) and former Ekiti State Governor, Segun Oni and APC Deputy National Chairman (North) Lawan Shuaibu.

None of them disclosed the issues discussed behind the closed-door meeting.
When the meeting ended at 2.40 p.m, Special ‎Adviser to the Vice-President on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu, told State House correspondents not to interview those who attended the meeting as a statement would be issued on issues discussed at the meeting.

A two paragraph statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande said that the consultative meeting centered on issues affecting the party and the nation.

The statement reads: “Select leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, drawn from the party’s National Headquarters, the legislative and executive arms of government had a consultative meeting on issues affecting the party and the nation.

“The meeting, which held at the Vice President’s conference room, was very useful and resourceful towards achieving the goals of the party and the government,” It stated.
