Former Governor of Ogun State Ibikunle Amosun is under great pressure.

And the pressure on the 64year is coming from his staunch loyalists.

The formidable political structure of the former Governor of Ogun state – 29 May 2003 to 29 May 2007 – is conflicted over his approach to work against the re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun, the candidate of his party for the 2023 gubernatorial election in Ogun State.

Amosun who has openly declared “Abiodun must go” is said to have picked a “preferred candidate” from another region of Ogun state.

“The ploy is to back another candidate on the platform of another party but his men are pressuring him to drop the idea” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Inside information has it that Amosun’s loyalists are pushing him to dump the idea of creating a third force in Ogun state.

“They are pushing him to pick one of two options. Either back the candidate of the PDP (People’s Democratic Party), Ladi Adebutu or don’t support or work against Abiodun and just focus on Asiwaju becoming the next President” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The added information available to SocietyNow.Ng revealed that Amosun’s loyalists threw up the option of backing Adebutu on the background that he supported the former Governor’s agenda in 2019 after he lost out in the battle for the PDP gubernatorial ticket and operates on a popular platform- and a statewide support base to his name.

“They believe if Amosun’s innermost intention is to stop Abiodun, he stands a better chance teaming up with Adebutu than attempting another solo run” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Insiders disclosed that Amosun is also facing pressure from other stakeholders in APC outside Ogun state not to play the role of spoiler in his burning opposition to Abiodun.

“He is being prevailed upon not to work against the party by stakeholders, especially outside the state. Amosun is facing pressure from different fronts not to sponsor another candidate on a different party for the 2023 election but he remains adamant on his opposition to Abiodun’s re-election” SocietyNow.Ng gathered
