Ambode To Replace Fowler As FIRS Boss?

Akinwunmi Ambode is determined to resurrect from the political demise that knocked him out of reckoning in the politics of Lagos state.

His men say the willingness of the immediate past governor – historically limited to a single term – to go to great lengths in the hunt for a federal appointment is about to pay off.

After he failed to make the list of Ministers, Ambode is said to have ‘’reached agreement’’ with President Muhammadu Buhari’s alter ego Abba Kyari (Chief of Staff) as a strong replacement for Babatunde Fowler according to the gospel by his loyalists.

Fowler is the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service.

The move is seen as re-alignment of political interests ahead 2023 general election.

Though the terms of the ‘’agreement’’ With Kyari is not clear at present, it is said to firmly put Ambode in strong opposition to the presidential ambition of Tinubu.

Kyari recently engaged Fowler – a known Tinubu loyalist – in a series of communication (leaked) that appear to question the competence of the FIRS boss.

Underground moves to see the agreement through as well counter moves to scuttle it by the ‘’other side’’ are said to be on.
